Overkill

Each enemy has a base amount of exp that it will give when defeated. This amount can be increased depending on how hard the target is hit. For example, if a monster has 1000 hit points and a player deals 1000 damage to it, he or she will receive the base amount of exp that monster yields. However, if the same monster is dealt 2000 damage, the attacker will receive twice the base exp.

The color the monster appears to the player also determines the base exp.
