Evolution
- Date: August 24th, 2006
The Evolution update is probably the biggest of all updates in ROSE's history. The update affected almost all areas of gameplay and balance. The most noticeable change was probably the newly implemented and blue-themed user interface. Evolution as a whole was really the beginning of a new ROSE era.
Balancing update (version 144)
- Date: January 24th, 2008
This update was the first major update made by the new development team only a few months after Triggersoft gave up development rights to Gravity Inc. The main focus of the update was to balance most skills that used to be over or underpowered. As a consequence, many skill trees were redesigned almost entirely to provide a fairer and more enjoyable gameplay. The drop system was also totally reviewed in details and updated as part of the balancing plans. One of the consequences of these changes were the addition of gemstones (with grades up to 7) to the drop list of certain monsters.
No changes were made however to the crafting skills of Dealers and Artisans which were considered by most as poorly implemented in terms of possibilities and flexibilities and were, as such, among the top priority issues to work on for the new team. But the crafting system in itself was considered too big to be addressed in update 144. Officials decided to deal with it in a future update entirely dedicated to it.

Crafting update (version 160)
- Date: May 20th, 2008
The second major update made by Gravity's development team was the crafting update. The crafting system and skills trees were completely redesigned. Many new items were introduced including new materials and gems. The following is a list of the main changes made:
- Back items can now be refined using a new refining material: Apotrope.
- Armors and Weapons have been reassigned a more logical item grade distribution.
- Talismans have been reassigned to refine items that are equipped with your hands (Weapons and Off-hand items). Bindrunes will no longer refine Off-hand items, such as shields or magic tools.
- New armors were introduced (via crafting or drops) and stat requirements have been rescaled appropriately.
- Dealers can now craft blue items. New blue prefixes were also introduced.
- Grenades, Bombs and Explosives have been added through the crafting system.
- Higher quality ammunitions are now available through dispensers which can be crafted. NPCs now also sell some of those new ammunitions.
- No gem with a grade higher than grade 3 will now drop.
- New gems have been introduced and all gems now drop or can be obtained via crafting (including Diamonds, Peridots and Emeralds). The new gems are: Pink Opal, Amethyst, Turquoise, Tanzanite, Opal, Zircon, Quartz, Moonstone, Jade, Beryl, Sunstone, Star Agate and Star Quartz.
- New crafting tools were introduced to help offset crafting success rates between low- and high-level artisans. They can be bought from certain NPCs.
- Many new "Dirty" items were added: when cleaned (used) they will reveal their true selves. Some examples include: Dirty Stone, Dirty Ore, Dirty Zodiac Stone...
- Several user interface windows have been updated and expanded for better clarity. Some of them are: Crafting Window, Disassembling Window and Option Menu.
- Many high level weapons have had their stat requirements adjusted in order to follow the proper scale.
- Many items now have new icons to better differentiate them with others that used to share the same icons.
- All refining materials such as Talismans, Bindrunes and Apotropes as well as several other items such as Spiritual stones and ores have also been given individual icons with the help of forum community member NGenesis.
- The Legend prefix will no longer drop. Instead, a new prefix "Legendary" was introduced. As opposed to the old Legend prefix, Legendary gears will increase the stat the class typically relies on: Strength for Soldiers, Intelligence for Muses, Dexterity for Hawkers and Concentration for Dealers.
- Many NPC shops were updated with additional items.
- NPC MP Consumables have had a small increase to their restoration values.

Each Union will host a list of items that can be purchased with Union Points earned by completing tasks for their union or by successfully competing in a Faction War.
Faction War - (Faction War FAQ) Once joined with a Union you will be able to participate in the Faction Wars that are held throughout the day. These wars pit the two rival factions against one another in a fight for glory and honor!
